(Before It's News)

This is huge news. Pence is universally known in Indiana and is by far the biggest Republican name in the state. Moreover, Trump specifically sought Pence’s endorsement and even publicly admitted that he had asked for it. After dithering on the sidelines for a very long time, Pence has finally decided that the fate of the country is too important to gamble just for the sake of trying to keep both sides happy, and has endorsed Ted Cruz.

“I’m not against anybody, but I will be voting for Ted Cruz in the Republican primary,” Pence said in an interview with WIBC’s Greg Garrison, adding later, “I’m very impressed with Ted Cruz’s devotion and knowledge of the Constitution of the United States.”
Pence also made sure to praise Trump as well, saying, he was “grateful for his voice in the national debate.”
It’s unclear at this time whether Pence will join Cruz on the campaign trail, as Scott Walker did in Wisconsin. It certainly seems that Pence is much more reluctant than Walker was to actively join the fray. But Pence’s word still carries weight in a razor-thin race.
