Ethnic Armenians, Azerbaijan reach truce in Karabakh – YouTube
Russian President Vladimir Putin has called on Armenia and Azerbaijan to ensure an end to hostilities in the disputed Karabakh region.
According to the Kremlin, Putin has made separate phone calls to the leaders of the two countries. That, after Azerbaijan and ethnic Armenians of Karabakh reached a ceasefire agreement and halted their military operations on Tuesday. Several regional countries, including Iran have expressed grave concern about the escalation. Earlier, Iran’s Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif hosted a tri-lateral meeting with his Azeri and Turkish counterparts in the Iranian resort city of Ramsar to discuss the crisis. Zarif also held a telephone conversation with the Armenian foreign minister. A meeting involving top diplomats from Russia, Iran and Azerbaijan will also be held on Thursday.
