The Syrian fighter jets pounded and destroyed the military centers and headquarters of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in Deir Ezzur province, inflicting heavy losses and casualties on them. The ISIL’s military positions and headquarters were razed down in al-Roshdiyah, Hosseiniyeh, Sheikh Yassin and Saker regions in the Syrian airstrikes on Wednesday. Scores of the ISIL terrorists were killed and wounded in the Syrian fighter jets’ raids on their positions. The Takfiri terrorists’ military hardware and vehicles were also destroyed in the Syrian warplanes’ attacks.

In a relevant development on Monday, Syria’s Kurdish popular forces continued their advances against the ISIL in the Eastern part of Syria, and inflicted heavy losses on the Takfiri terrorist group. The Kurdish forces have paved their way into the city of Deir Ezzur. Tough battle continued between the Kurdish popular forces and the ISIL near Deir Ezzur military airport, al-Sina’ah (Industrial) Area and the army’s Division 137 in Deir Ezzur city.

Also on Sunday, the Syrian air force pounded and destroyed the military positions and gathering centers of the ISIL in two different regions in Deir Ezzur city, killing several Takfiri terrorists and injuring many more. The ISIL’s positions in al-Sina’ah (Industrial) and Haweija Saker regions in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur city were razed down by the Syrian fighter jets. The Syrian army’s artillery units also targeted the ISIL’s positions in al-Mura’yeh Haweija region in the Eastern part of Deir Ezzur military airport. What was Russia’s Proposal to Turkey?

Here is a map of the current situation in north Syria.

In yellow shade the YPG held enclave around Efrin. In red the Syrian government held area around Aleppo city. In green the al-Qaeda and “rebel” held areas. The northern part around Azaz next to the Turkish border is the current point of action. The dark blackish areas are held by the Islamic State.

One can see the corridor next to the Turkish border which the Islamic Sate managed to cut today. It took several villages and a refugee camp that was established on the Syrian side. The refugee camp was then shelled by Turkish artillery to again drive out the Islamic State.

This attack demonstrates that the idea of “safe zones” in norther Syria is nonsense. Such “safe zones” would be major battle ground and would be attacked, as today, from two sides. They are indefensible. On top of that Erdogan’s “Turkmen” have proven to be less capable than the YPG Kurds who have withstood similar attacks by the Islamic State.

Further south the Syrian army is near closing the corridor into eastern Aleppo city which is held by al-Qaeda (Jabhat al-Nusra) fighters. This “squeezing” and several other operations, marked with red arrows on the map, are in preparation for a large Syrian army attack along several axis in Aleppo governate and in Aleppo city.

Over 150 Terrorists Cross Turkish Border to Syria

Russian sources announced that more than 150 terrorists have crossed
the border from Turkey to Syria to join the terrorists groups’ front in
Lattakia province.

The Russian Coordination Center at the Hmaymim
Military Airbase in Jableh (Lattakia) said that the group of terrorists
were monitored and tracked by the center as they crossed through
Turkish Army checkpoints in order to enter Syria through the
Northeastern part of the coastal province.

On Tuesday, Russian
military and several battlefield sources in Syria’s Lattakia province
reported that the Turkish Army shelled Syrian Army forces in Lattakia
province near the Turkish border.

The Russian center’s statement
on the Turkish army shelling attacks on the Syrian army forces was
published as several battlefield sources in Lattakia province reported
the attacks in the last few days.

“Once again, Syrian territory
came under shelling attack by the Turkish Armed Forces. Between 8:30
a.m. and 9:20 a.m. on April 10, 2016, Turkish artillery shelled Syrian
government positions in the Lattakia province from the town of Metisli
in Turkey,” the Russian Command Center in Syria said in a daily bulletin
posted on the Russian Defense Ministry’s website.

The center added that “another artillery strike from the same position in Turkey hit the town of Gebelli few hours later”.

Syria in Last 24 Hours: Army Destroys Militants’ Defense Lines in Aleppo Province

The Syrian army destroyed the defense lines of the Takfiri terrorists in Aleppo province.

The army units backed by the popular forces inflicted heavy losses on the militants in Aleppo province, killing scores of militants and injuring many more in heavy clashes.

The Syrian army and popular forces also hit hard the military positions of the Takfiri terrorists in other key provinces across Syria.

Aleppo

The Syrian Army, backed by Hezbollah and the National Defense Forces (NDF) cut off another key supply route of the terrorists in the Southern parts of Aleppo province, a military source said on Thursday.

The Syrian Army forces and their allies recaptured the main road used by Al-Nusra Front and the Free Syrian Army (FSA) at the Al-Ramouseh Industrial Zone after a tough battle in the region, the battlefield source said.

“As a result of this latest attack, the terrorists are now without a much-needed supply route to the Al-Ramouseh Industrial Zone,” an army strategist said, adding that “the achievement by the Syrian Army means a serious problem for the al-Nusra and the Free Syrian Army in near future”.

“The terrorists will now have to use rural and secondary roads to deliver their supplies to Ramouseh Industrial Zone, if they are up to keep their presence there,” he explained.

Earlier in Aleppo province, Syrian Army forces repulsed ISIL’s assault on their positions in Southern Aleppo and killed or injured a number of militants.

“The ISIL militants in an attempt to prevail over army positions East of Khanaser attacked the region, however, the Syrian Army troops fended off the attack and killed several fighters,” a military source said.

The source added that ISIL militants conducted an immense attack in Khanaser region, but the attack ended in another defeat for the militant group as the army forces destroyed several ISIL heavily-armed pick-up truck vehicles and defused some explosive devices left by the militants in the region.

Meantime, the Syrian Army forces backed by popular forces managed to liberate the strategic region of al-Mallah farms from the control of the Al-Nusra Front terrorists in Northwestern suburbs of Aleppo, military source said on Thursday.

“The Syrian army began the operation to recapture more regions in the Northern suburb of Aleppo on Thursday and pushed the al-Nusra terrorist to evacuate Mallah farms and retreat Eastward after heavy clashes which ended in significant casualties on the terrorist group,” the battlefield source said

The source added that the al-Nusra militants fired dozens of rockets at residential areas with dozens of civilian casualties reported.

The victory paves the way for more advances by the Syrian Army in strategic regions in the Northern suburbs of the city of Aleppo.

The development comes as military sources in the Northern province of Aleppo revealed the army’s plans to start massive operations against the remaining Takfiri terrorists with 10,000 operating soldiers.

“The Syrian army has deployed 10,000 soldiers in Aleppo front to begin a large-scale military operation to push the Takfiris back from the remaining villages which are under the terrorists’ control,” the military source said on Thursday.

Dara’a

The Syrian army offensive on a gathering of al-Nusra Front leaders in the Southern province of Dara’a killed or injured all inside the building.

A Syrian army unit destroyed the al-Nusra leaders’ center in al-Hammadin area in Dara’a al-Mahatta on Thursday.

A military source explained that an army unit directly hit the fortified positions of al-Nusra terrorists in al-Hammadin area, which resulted in destroying its headquarters where the terrorist group’s leaders had convened for a highly important strategic meeting.

In a relevant development in Dara’a on Wednesday, the Syrian army repelled an attack by the Takfiri terrorists on its military positions in the Eastern part of the province.

The Takfiri terrorists affiliated to the al-Nusra Front tried to attack the Syrian army’s military positions in Dara’a al-Mahatta, but were pushed back by the army units.

The Syrian army destroyed the two heavy machinegun-equipped military vehicles of the al-Nusra terrorists in Dara’a al-Mahatta region in Eastern Dara’a.

Meantime, battlefield sources announced that a Syrian army unit drove out the Takfiri terrorists from al-Hammadin neighborhood in Dara’a province.

Also, an army unit destroyed two machinegun-equipped military vehicles of al-Nusra terrorists in Tal al-Sheikh Hussein and Teloul Khleif regions.

Homs

The Russian warplanes targeted the ISIL terrorists’ positions in regions near the ancient city of Palmyra (Tadmur) in Homs province.

The Russian fighter jets pounded the ISIL gathering centers in al-Bardeh on Thursday.

The Russian bombers also struck several ISIL targets along the Palmyra-Deir Ezzur Highway, killing and wounding a large number of Takfiri terrorists.

Meantime, the Syrian Air Force destroyed the ISIL vehicles, some of them equipped with machineguns, near Quaryatayn in Homs province.

Field reports said that several Takfiri terrorists were killed in the airstrikes.

Damascus

An informed military source strongly rejected rumors spread by the Takfiri terrorists about their victories against the Syrian government forces in al-Dumeir military airbase in Damascus province.

“Such rumors have been spread by the Takfiri terrorists due to the heavy blows that they have sustained from the army across Syria,” the source said on Thursday.

“The airbase is under the full control of the Syrian army soldiers,” he underlined.

The ISIL launched powerful assault to enter the strategic al-Dumeir military airport, but the Syrian army and popular forces repelled their attempts.

Lattakia

The Syrian army and its allies blocked al-Nusra Front’s attack to seize a strategic hilltop in the Northern side of the town of Kinsibba near Turkmen mountain.

The Al-Nusra Front attempted to bypass the Syrian army’s defenses at the strategic mountaintop of Jabal Qal’at, resulting in a series of fierce clashes.

According to a field source, the Syrian army managed to spot the Takfiri terrorists trying to infiltrate Jabal Qal’at in Lattakia province and forced them to retreat from the battlefield after leaving behind scores of the dead or wounded members.

At least 5 militants were killed in the clashes while others retreated towards the Aleppo-Lattakia Highway, the source added.

Deir Ezzur

The Southern parts of Deir Ezzur province were heavily pounded by the Syrian warplanes on Thursday, leaving scores of ISIL terrorists dead or wounded.

The Syrian Air Force carried out special operations in the Southern parts of Deir Ezzur province, destroying the ISIL’s largest training camp in the city of Mohassan.

The heavy airstrikes killed tens of Takfiri terrorists and injured dozens of others, destroying their weapons, equipment and vehicles.
