The Syrian army and popular forces continued their military operations against the terrorist groups in Homs province, and killed scores of militants over the past 24 hours.
The Syrian army killed and wounded scores of the ISIL militants in Homs province.
The Syrian army also inflicted heavy losses on the terrorist groups in other key province across Syria.
Homs
The Syrian government forces, in a fresh round of joint attacks, targeted the ISIL strongholds in the territories between Quaryatayn and Palmyra and forced the terrorists to retreat from more positions there, military sources said on Saturday.
“Joint operation of the Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) has hit the ISIL centers in Bardeh mountain, and thus far has ended in the killing or wounding of tens of the terrorists,” the sources said.
“A number of hilltops have been recaptured in Bardeh mountains and the government forces have stared to fortify their positions in the newly-captured lands,” they further added.
“The ISIL terrorists were surprised due to the rapid action of the government forces,” the sources underlined.
Reports said earlier today that Syrian Army and the National Defense Forces (NDF) have significantly advanced against the ISIL terrorists in the Eastern part of Homs province and have deployed their ready-to-fight forces near the country’s main energy-rich region.
“The Syrian government forces pushed the ISIL terrorists back from a long chunk of Palmyra-Raqqa highway and have positioned their forces around the Arak oilfields,” the sources said.
“The rapid advances of the Syrian army and popular forces against the ISIL in the Eastern part of Homs province will end the terrorist group’s rule over the oil and gas fields,” the sources added.
“The Takfiri terrorist group will loss much of its oil supply,” they went on to say.
The Syrian warplanes, in at least 25 combat sorties, hit the strongholds of al-Nusra Front in the Northern part of Homs province, and slowed down their military-logistic movements.
Gathering centers of the al-Qaeda-affiliated al-Nusra Front in al-Houla and al-Rastan came under the heavy bombardments of the Syrian air fleet, which ended in the killing or wounding of tens of the terrorists.
Al-Nusra’s military vehicles, ammunition and weapons sustained major damage in the attacks.
Lattakia
The Syrian and Russian fighter jets, in over 40 combat sorties, targeted jointly the strongholds of al-Nusra Front in the Northeastern part of the coastal province of Lattakia, inflicting a heavy death toll on the Takfiri terrorists.
The Syrian and Russian warplanes turned the Northeastern territories of Lattakia province into hell for the terrorist group.
Over 40 combat flights carried out by the Russian and Syrian air fleets inflicted major losses on the terrorists and meantime, paved the wary for the Syrian army to have easier advance against the terrorist groups in the mountainous battlefield.
The heavy air attacks of the Russian and Syrian jets pinned the militants down behind their positions.
In relevant developments earlier this week, the Syrian Army’s artillery units opened heavy fire at the positions of the terrorist groups deployed inside and outside the strategic town of Kabani and pinned the militants down behind their strongholds.
Several terrorists of al-Nusra Front and al-Turkistani group were killed and several more were wounded in the Syrian army’s shelling of the militant positions in Kabani and its surrounding mountains.
Hama
Syrian Army troops, tipped off by intelligence agents, stopped several ISIL vehicles laden with caches of ammunition and weapons on a road connecting the Northeastern part of Hama province to the Southeastern part of Aleppo province.
The Syrian soldiers ambushed the ISIL convoy of military vehicles on Ithriya-Khanasser road and confiscated the entire cargo.
Several guards of the convoy were also killed or wounded in the ambush.
Three of the ISIL vehicles were fully loaded with different kinds of ammunition and weapons.
Military sources said that the Syrian army and its allies engaged in heavy fighting with the terrorists in the Northern part of Hama province.
Sources said that one of the notorious field commanders of the al-Nusra Front terrorist group in Hama battlefields was killed in heavy fighting with the Syrian Army troops.
“A senior commander of al-Nusra in Atshan region, nicknamed Abu Moussa, was killed in the Syrian Army’s operation in the Northern part of Hama province,” sources said.
Deir Ezzur
The Syrian fighter jets carried out several combat flights over ISIL strongholds in five different districts and regions across the Eastern province of Deir Ezzur and targeted them heavily.
The Syrian Army’s aircraft struck the ISIL concentration centers and gatherings in al-Sina’ah districts, the regions of Haweijeh Sakar, Jafreh and Baqaliyeh and the farms of al-Mura’yeh in the Southern side of airport, which not only claimed the lives of several terrorist but ended in destruction of their military hardware and vehicles.

The Iraqi Army – backed by local popular committees – liberated the town of Al-Zukhaykhah after an intense battle with the Islamic State of Iraq and Al-Sham (ISIS) on Saturday morning. The Iraqi Army and their allies were able to take control of Al-Zukhaykhah after advancing west from the strategic town of Al-Hit; its capture on Saturday has put them within striking distance of the ISIS stronghold of Al-Baghdadi.
