VIDEO: Ann Coulter Warns Against “Latin-American Rape Culture”
You may recall that when Donald Trump announced he was officially running of president, he took a lot of heat for his comments on rapists coming from south of the border.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best. They’re not sending you, they’re sending people that have lots of problems and they’re bringing those problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.”
At the time it created a firestorm. Trump didn’t precisely abandon the comments so much as he added to them. Emphasising that he had acknowledged some are “good people.” Certainly he didn’t seem to indicate that it was a problem that was embedded in the culture of our friends south of the border. That would be outrageous! That would be as ridiculous as the claims that college men are prone to rape. The case simply can’t be made. It’s preposterous.
And yet, one has to wonder how else to translate Ann Coulter’s comments this evening while running down theoretical situations where a president’s duty overlaps with the pro-life agenda.
“[W]omen are going to get a lot more abortions if we don’t close our border with Mexico and bring in all of Latin-American rape culture.”
What makes this quote so much more egregious is that she’s using it as a way to defend the fact that the very person she endorses for president doesn’t seem all that committed to pro-life issues and in fact, may be pro-choice. Earlier in the interview she dismisses the notion that it even matters if Trump is pro-life at all since, as president, he’d have little impact on the issue.
To say that in a year that a previously conservative Supreme Court seat is now open and Trump’s own sister has been floated as a potential choice despite the fact that she’s a radical pro-abortionist, tells you everything you need to know about the Trump ethos: Nothing matters except the border.
There certainly is a dangerous culture invading American life. But it’s from within. And I shudder to think of what life will be like if we’re locked in here with it.
