According to reports, the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) will now pass to the House of Representatives to be voted upon. If the act is passed in the House of Representatives as well, the sovereign immunity enjoyed by countries would reportedly be lifted, leaving families and victims affected by terror attacks free to file lawsuits against governments and also seek compensation from other countries.
