White House goes into lockdown after shooting reported on West Executive Drive –Man allegedly approached the White House brandishing a gun and was shot by the Secret Service | 20 My 2016 | An armed man has been shot by the Secret Service after approaching a White House checkpoint, it has been claimed. The man, who is reported to be in a critical condition, was shot by one of President Obama's armed team after being spotted with a firearm at around 2pm today. It is claimed the man brandished the weapon and was then shot in the abdomen. A spokesman for the fire department told the Washington Post he was then raced to hospital in a critical condition.
