British football fans warned Euro 2016 stadiums are 'potential targets' for terrorist attacks | 07 June 2016 | British football fans travelling to the European Championships in France have been officially warned that stadiums are “potential targets” for terrorist attacks. Fans travelling to Euro 2016 were today warned to be “vigilant” by the Foreign Office which said that “stadiums, fan zones, venues broadcasting the tournament and transport hubs and links represent potential targets for terrorist attacks”. It comes after a French citizen arrested with a “vast arsenal” of explosives and assault rifles was planning “15 attacks” to coincide with the tournament.
