British Politician Compares Israel To What?!

(Before It's News)

While European hate for Israel is nothing new, British Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn took it to an entirely new level, comparing the nation of Israel to the Islamic State, or ISIS.

Corbyn was speaking at an event where the inquiry into anti-Semitism within the Labour Party was the main topic, and he appeared to prove these accusations against his party correct, saying:

“Our Jewish friends are no more responsible for the actions of Israel than our Muslim friends are for the self-styled Islamic State.”

Essentially what Mr. Corbyn is saying is that “sure, the nation of Israel is a sovereign nation that offers true freedom to all of its inhabitants, but they are really no different than ISIS, which brutally murders anyone who does not share their same radicalization”.

I did some lengthy research into terrorist attacks committed by Israel, as Mr. Corbyn had me wondering if they really were just as bad. This may shock you, but not a single terrorist attack in the last 10 years has been committed in the name of Israel. In stark contrast, some of the most horrifying and deadly attacks have been committed in the name of ISIS including the recent attack in Orlando.

Now, surely Mr. Corbyn must have been acting like a politician and speaking on behalf of the Jewish population of Britain. Surely the Jews of Britain find Israel to be as reprehensible as ISIS, otherwise he would never make such an absurd comment.

Well, that’s not the case. In fact, 93% of British Jews said Israel forms a “central,” or “important” part of their identity.

It gets better, because the blatant anti-Semitism does not stop there. See, while the people were gathered to speak out against anti-Semitism, pro-Corbyn activists attacked a Jewish MP by the name of Ruth Smeeth. Smeeth said she received many “traditional anti-Semitic slurs” and was even accused of being a part of the “media conspiracy”.

After the event, Smeeth called for Corbyn to resign, saying that:

“It is beyond belief that someone could come to the launch of a report on antisemitism in the Labour Party and espouse such vile conspiracy theories about Jewish people,”

This call for Corbyn to resign is nothing new, as just last week over 170 Labour MP’s passed a non-binding no-confidence vote in their leader, and Prime Minister David Cameron also voiced his opinion that Corbyn should resign.

We have seen anti-Semitism on the rise in the United States throughout this election cycle, and it appears that things are no different, if not worse, in the UK.
