'BuzzFeed' to refuse Donald Trump ads | 06 June 2016 | Likening them to cigarette ads and citing concerns about the rhetoric of presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump. BuzzFeed says it will not run political ads from the Republican National Committee. “The tone and substance of his campaign are unique in the history of modern US politics,” BuzzFeed CEO Jonah Peretti said in a staff memo published on the popular website known for its viral content…The Republican National Committee signed an agreement with BuzzFeed in April to spend $1.3 million to buy ads for the election season, according to Politico. But BuzzFeed told the RNC on Monday that it's ending the deal.
