Trump: No Need to Fund Raise. The Media Will Give Me Free Publicity

(Before It's News)

The conservative target of fundraising by the RNC, in order to battle the Clinton machine has been $1 billion.

Arguably, it would take at least that much to dress up that toad who sits atop of the GOP ticket for the 2016 race, as well as to shore up the down ballot races.

In an interview with Bloomberg, Donald Trump is now signaling that he won’t be actively working to raise those funds, because he doesn’t need that much. His reasoning being that he will continue to receive the thousands in free advertising that he received from the media.

“There’s no reason to raise that,” he said when asked about the $1 billion fundraising goal. “I just don’t think I need nearly as much money as other people need because I get so much publicity. I get so many invitations to be on television. I get so many interviews, if I want them.”

It’s absolutely truth that Trump received an inordinate amount of free ad time from cable and network news, as well as talk radio.

Fox News has acted as the official unofficial campaign headquarters for Trump from the day he announced, giving only glancing notice to the other candidates in the race, making concessions for Trump that were not afforded to any other candidate (such as telling Ted Cruz they would not accept call-in interviews, even as Trump was calling in every morning), and in some instances, being outwardly hostile to other candidates (as in Charles Payne’s antagonistic interview with Governor Rick Perry, where Payne all but screamed his disgust over Perry’s refusal to say he would deport 11 million immigrants).

Talk radio has been just as pathetic. Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, and especially Sean Hannity have abandoned any façade of being conservative voices, and now only bow to the great, orange, hairpiece.

Trump has used the media’s coverage to his advantage throughout his presidential campaign. In January, POLITICO reported that Trump got approximately $330,000 worth of free advertising across cable news networks for their repeated broadcasts of a 30-second ad spot for the campaign. And in March, The New York Times reported that Trump received an estimated $1.9 billion in free airtime (compared to $10 million in purchased airtime) since his campaign launched.

There is no doubt Trump will continue to command headlines and airtime. That being said, he shouldn’t hang his red hat on it all being positive, this time.

Most news media have a leftward slant. With the coronation of Queen Hillary already in full swing, he can expect every false step, every ridiculous comment, all of the glaring gaps in knowledge and commonsense, as well as the ever-looming Trump University lawsuit to get a lot more airtime than they got during the primary season.

Looks like Sean Hannity is going to be called in for extra lackey duty.
