The Yemeni popular forces have dismantled a terrorist group in the Western part of Yemen and killed its commander, informed security sources announced on Wednesday.

“The security forces of Ansarullah Movement identified and disbanded a terrorist group in al-Jah region of al-Hudaydah province,” the Arabic-language Saba news agency quoted an unnamed security source as saying.

The source noted that the members of the terrorist group intended to conduct explosions and assassinate the political figures in order to disrupt the public tranquility.

On Tuesday, the Yemeni popular forces continued their advances against the Saudi forces and terrorist groups in al-Hudaydah province, killing several al-Qaeda terrorists, including a notorious commander.

Al-Qaeda’s senior commander was killed in the artillery attack of Ansarullah forces in al-Hudaydah.

The Yemeni popular forces also arrested three other senior terrorists following artillery shelling of terrorists’ positions in the province.

On Monday, the Yemeni army and popular forces, in fierce clashes in Taiz province, managed to inflict heavy casualties on foreign-backed militants, including several Saudi-hired mercenaries, and forces loyal to fugitive President Mansour Hadi.

Hosham Abdolmalek, a leader of Yemen’s popular committees, told FNA that tens of Saudi mercenaries and their commanders as well as militias loyal to Hadi were among the casualties of the clashes that broke out in rugged al-Tha’bat region in Yemen’s strategic province of Taiz.

Abu Ammar al-Nakhai, Abdullah Abu Hosham, Majed Yahya al-Samei, Mohammad Mojali, Mostafa Dirham and Amin al-Makhlafi were the field commanders of pro-Hadi forces and Saudi mercenaries killed in Taiz, he added.
