Attorney General Schuette charges 6 state workers over Flint's contaminated water | 29 July 2016 | Attorney General Bill Schuette on Friday filed charges against six state employees for misconduct in office related to their alleged roles in the lead contamination of Flint's drinking water. Genesee County Judge Nathaniel C. Perry III authorized charges Friday morning against three employees in the Department of Health and Human Services and three employees in the Department of Environmental Quality, including fired municipal water chief Liane Shekter Smith.
