Florida Democrat Rep Corrine Brown Uses The Dead As Political Props
Florida Democrat Representative Corrine Brown was charged with 24 counts of fraud last week, but she thinks the reason why has nothing to do with, you know, her crime.
According to Brown, the issue had to do with race.
“Two black men were needlessly gunned down by police; five Dallas police officers were slain by a demented man, and on Friday I had to appear in federal court,” she said on her blog, “I’m not the first black elected official to be persecuted and, sad to say, I won’t be the last”.
To recap, in case anyone missed what she said, Brown claims her life is just as hard as 7 people who were killed because she was taken to court for committing crimes.
Oh, but it gets better. Brown is not done using the dead as her political props, she sets her focus on victims of the horrific terrorist attack in Orlando.
“These are the same agents that was not able to do a thorough investigation of [shooter Omar Mateen], and we ended up with 50 people dead,” Brown said. Her attorney, Elizabeth White, added that “Perhaps had it chosen to devote its resources more thoughtfully, 50 innocent people would be alive today”.
Brown and her team are claiming that the FBI allowed 49 innocent people to die in order to prosecute her for fraud. This is the same FBI that defended her Party’s nominee Hillary Clinton, so the idea that this is some partisan witch-hunt is absurd.
According to a local Florida report:
She and her chief of staff, Elias Simmons are charged with conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud, multiple counts of mail and wire fraud, concealing material facts on required financial disclosure forms, theft of government property, and filing false tax returns, among other things. Brown, Simmons and One Door Charity president Carla Wiley are accused of using more than $800,000 raised for college scholarships as their personal slush fund. Only $1,200 was ever handed out in the form of a scholarship. Wiley pled guilty to charges in March.
The FBI clearly has some damning evidence, but to Brown that all doesn’t actually exist. It’s all about race, the typical cry from the Left.
