Sean Hannity Clowns Himself With Schoolgirl Worship of Possible Trump VP Pick
Fox News’ Sean Hannity honed his brown-nosing skills recently, as he gushed over another frequent guest and Trump surrogate, Newt Gingrich.
The topic centered around if Gingrich would make it as the new member of Donald Trump’s boy band and Hannity was absolutely giddy.
“Who would be best at prosecuting the case against Hillary Clinton in terms of the list that he has? Who would be best in terms of making the case and articulating the case for Donald Trump with a positive voice like you have? Who would be the person that would pretty much be assured a win in any presidential/vice presidential debate?” Hannity told Gingrich. “I think you’ve checked that corner. Who has balanced the budget and given us a surplus? Who has the ability to work with Congress? I check all the boxes, and you’re right there at the top, and I think you’d be the right choice. What is your response to that?”
Hannity made sure to remark that he was not offering up the recommendation “as a friend.”
“I’m speaking objectively here. I think you would prosecute the case against Hillary better than anybody, strategize and help them win, and help him govern, which, with a hostile speaker and majority leader, would be difficult,” the Fox News host continued, as Gingrich grinned.
That, in itself, is laughable. Hannity and all of Fox News lost all objectivity when Roger Ailes’ pal, Trump, decided to wreck the GOP and entered the race. Hannity, however, is the worst at hiding it. He’s had the star-struck 14-year old girl thing down from the beginning.
For his part, Gingrich played down the slobbering praise fest as best he could, noting:
“But what it really comes down to in the end, and one of the reasons people focus on vice presidential selections is it becomes a question of chemistry. Trump has to find a person he is comfortable with,” Gingrich said. “As you know, he and I have a good relationship.”
“I respect his right to pick the person that he thinks would be most helpful to him. I’ve told him, and I will tell you publicly, I will actively do everything I can,” Gingrich said, noting that his wife, Callista, “joins me in this.”
While discussing the issue with fellow Trump bootlick, Laura Ingraham, along with Monica Crowley, Hannity gave one last, dreamy response:
“I wouldn’t be happy with anyone but Newt,” Hannity responded. “But that’s my opinion.”
If the delegates in Cleveland revolt and give us an actual, viable candidate I predict the howls of pain and disappointment emerging from the Fox News studios will be audible up and down the entire east coast. Hannity will likely be rendered catatonic.
I can’t wait.
