The 22-strong Conservative Party board is in urgent talks over handing the Number 10 keys to the last woman standing – and it is a question of when, not if. Third-placed Michael Gove said he would not contest Mrs May – and 1922 Committee chairman Graham Brady said there was no chance 'whatsoever' of reopening the race.
