Three arrested, machine gun found following lockdown at US Capitol building | 12 July 2016 | Three people were arrested near the US Capitol building on Tuesday following reports of an armed suspect in the area. Police said the suspects led them on a high-speed chase before their vehicle crashed, NBC Washington reports. Police also recovered a “mini-machine” gun and multiple rounds of ammunition at the scene. US Capitol Police warned occupants inside the building of the ongoing pursuit, and issued a lockdown that lasted for 20 minutes.
