FOX Will Air a 60 Sec Ad by Transgender Activists Last Night of Convention

Yesterday,, issued a press release with a link to “a groundbreaking ad.” The Transgender community has found an advocate in Donald J. Trump.

“The presumptive Republican presidential nominee, Donald Trump, has offered varying opinions on the issue of transgender rights, but stated that HB2 has caused ‘a lot of problems’ and that transgender people should ‘use the bathroom they feel is appropriate,’ adding that this policy has worked well for years.”

As well as a few other high-profile Republicans.

“However, Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen of Florida and Sen. Rob Portman of Ohio—both of whom have children who are transgender or gay—are among a growing number of elected Republicans who strongly support protecting LGBT people from discrimination.

On Friday, Republican Gov. Charlie Baker of Massachusetts signed into law a bill that ensures explicit protections for transgender people in public places, including restrooms. That bill passed the legislature with overwhelming bipartisan support earlier this summer, and Baker had previously indicated that he would sign it.”

While Trump = Good Republican, Ted Cruz = Bad Republican.

“Texas Sen. Ted Cruz ran glaringly anti-transgender campaign ads, only to see his presidential campaign plummet shortly afterwards.”

Because of imaginary anti-transgender campaign ads? I thought Cruz and Trump were competing in the Republican primaries. Why would an anti-transgender ad, if ever one existed, fail the Cruz campaign among Republicans? Unless they’re referring to the New Republicans, aka the Old Democrats, aka Trump Republicans. I can understand their confusion.

It’s befuddling the thought processes of Fox News, generally, but throwing a 60 second advertising chastisement in the face of their remaining conservative viewers is just, well, stupid.

David Cameron Steps Down as Theresa May Steps Up

Monday morning, within hours of an announcement that Theresa May was the lone candidate for UK Prime Minister, David Cameron abruptly withdrew his appointment, effective Wednesday. No time like the present. Clearly the Brits have had enough debate, and are ready to get on with the business of leaving the EU.

The Washington Post reported,

“After that (PM Questions in House of Commons), I expect to go to the palace and offer my resignation, so we will have a new prime minister in that building behind me by Wednesday evening,” Cameron said.

“On his way back to Downing Street, the still-mic’d-up Cameron hummed a happy tune.”

The Wall Street Journal broke late last night, that Paul Ryan’s attempt on the 7th of July, the day after the FBI rejected calls to find Hillary Clinton criminally responsible for mishandling her emails, to block Clinton from access to security briefing was denied. The briefings are a courtesy to candidates for president and their running mates.

James Clapper, Department of National Intelligence replied to Ryan’s request:

“Director of National Intelligence James Clapper, in a letter to Mr. Ryan, wrote, ‘I do not intend to withhold briefings from any officially nominated, eligible candidate,’ according to a copy of the letter reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.”

“…the candidates don’t need security clearance to attend.”

“Operational and policy matters aren’t discussed, though some of the information is classified, Mr. Clapper wrote. These briefings have been held since 1952.”

So, a security clearance is not required, but a smidge of the information being shared is classified? That’s right up Hill’s alley. No small wonder criminal charges weren’t levied against her.

Ryan’s response:

“We obviously disagree with the decision and want to know what precautions will be taken and what assurances the director can give that Secretary Clinton won’t mishandle classified information.”

In other words, if you’re going to disarm the American people, Mr. Clapper, what will you do to protect them from harm?

Good question.
