A senior Sudanese officer and 16 other forces affiliated to fugitive president Mansour Hadi were killed in missile attacks launched by Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement in the Southern province of Lahij. Al-Masirah news channel announced the news on Thursday quoting military sources. “A Sudanese colonel was killed along with 16 forces affiliated to the so-called Arab coalition in Ansarullah movement’s missile attack in Lahij, Southern Yemen,” the source said. The source added that the attack had targeted the Arab coalition forces’ gathering center in Kersh region in Lahij.
In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Yemeni army pounded the Saudi-led forces’ strategic military base in Ma’rib province with a Zalzal 3 ballistic missile. Al-Tadavin military base which is under Saudi Arabia’s control was hit by Yemen’s Zalzal 3 ballistic missile. The forces loyal to former fugitive president Mansour Hadi were also present in Al-Tadavin military base at the time it was hit by the missile. Initial reports indicated scores of casualties in the Yemeni missile attack on al-Tadavin military base.
Al-Tadavin military base is located between Ma’rib and al-Jawf provinces in the Northern parts of Yemen.
Also yesterday, the Yemeni forces repelled the Saudi-led forces’ fourth attack on their military positions in the Western part of Ma’rib province, inflicting heavy losses on them in a counteroffensive. The Saudi forces launched an attack for the fourth time on the Yemeni military positions in Yam Benham region in Western Ma’rib, but were pushed back army and popular forces. The Yemeni forces also destroyed several armored and military vehicles of the Saudi forces in the army’s counterattack.
Meantime, a battlefield source in Yemen told FNA that tough battle is currently underway between the Yemeni army and the Saudi forces in Ta’iz. Nawaf Adnan reiterated that heavy clashes between the Yemeni and Saudi forces are underway in the Eastern and Western parts of Ta’iz.

The Ansarullah forces, backed by the Yemeni Republican Guard, launched a new offensive to capture the strategic Al-Hazm region in Northern Yemen near the Saudi borders on Thursday.
“If the Ansarullah forces seize Al-Hazm region in al-Jawf Province, then the pro-Hadi forces would suffer an embarrassing defeat near the Saudi border,” a battlefield source said.
Moreover, if the Ansarullah forces capture the key region, the pro-Hadi forces and Saudi-backed mercenaries would end up in a very difficult situation and would be forced to reinforce themselves in the neighboring Ma’rib province to stop being crushed by the Yemeni popular forces in the province.
The development comes as earlier reports said a senior Sudanese officer and 16 other forces affiliated to fugitive president Mansour Hadi were killed in missile attacks launched by Yemen’s Ansarullah Movement in the Southern province of Lahij.
