You Did It: Congress Moving To Vote On Major Pro-Gun Legislation!

Back in May, the Obama administration quietly announced a new regulation that would disarm 75,000 Social Security beneficiaries each year.
For years, beneficiaries have been encouraged to assign ‘representative payees’ so that family members or close friends can deposit their benefits checks and make withdrawals on their behalf. In many ways, the SSA’s representative payee system is a lot like adding a second person to a bank account. It just makes things a lot easier.
For people with physical disabilities, this program can be lifesaving because it allows a close friend or family member to pick up their groceries, for example, or drop of their prescriptions at the pharmacy. Other people in the program simply need a little help making sure their bills get paid on time.
This newest regulation from the Obama administration declares that if you are a Social Security beneficiary who has been assigned a representative payee to help with finances, you are officially now an American of “marked subnormal intelligence.”
Isn’t that horrible?
Here’s the bad news. The comment period when Americans are allowed to petition the government directly on a proposed regulation has closed. The Obama administration received 90,920 comments. The only reason this regulation hasn’t been implemented yet is because they have to read every single comment before making a final decision.
This new regulation is just days away from being implemented. We are out of time.
Obama’s backdoor gun control will disarm 75,000 people every year. These are disabled and elderly Americans who just want to be left alone and allowed to defend themselves.
I always tell the story of Eddie Frank Smith when I talk about this regulation. Smith is a 69-year-old wheelchair-bound Vietnam veteran who was recently able to shoot and kill a home intruder who broke into his house and attacked him.
This is exactly the type of person that Obama is desperately trying to disarm.
This is how Obama’s anti-gun program will work if it isn’t stopped. The Social Security Administration will take its list of beneficiaries with representative payees and export the list to the FBI’s NICS background check database.
Elderly Americans on this list will be denied if they try to purchase or transfer a firearm and anyone on this list with a concealed carry license or some other gun permit will have their guns confiscated.
The minute that this regulation goes into effect, thousands of Americans will instantly become felons for illegally possessing firearms… all because they checked a box on a form saying they’d like a family member or friend to help them with their finances. Thousands of elderly and disabled Americans will receive a knock on their door and a notification that they are no longer deemed to be fit to own a gun.
It is just absolutely sickening, but it doesn’t have to be this way!
Sure, the comment period is over. If you tried to tell the Obama administration your opinion on this, they’d tell you to take a hike. They wouldn’t even read your letter.
That is why it is imperative to bombard Congress with FaxBlasts DEMANDING that they block this regulation from going into effect!
Long before there was any announcement, there were rumors that Obama was mounting a Social Security gun ban. Late last year, Representative Sam Johnson (R-TX) introduced the Social Security Beneficiary 2nd Amendment Rights Protection Act, a bill to prevent the Obama administration from going after beneficiaries with representative payees.
We are proud to say that this common-sense legislation now has 140 co-sponsors!
The bill has just twenty-four lines of text. The legislation is simple: a Social Security beneficiary having someone assigned to help with finances is not enough reason to declare they have marked subnormal intelligence and are unfit to own firearms.
Here’s the exciting part. On the official .gov Congressional website, the text of this bill has been taken down. That might seem like bad news, but it is an excellent development. That means that it is about to be formally filed for a floor vote and the final text has alterations that require the Government Printing Office to re-publish it.
We are getting an official vote!
Now is the time. This is do or die. We have a chance right now to kill this regulation once and for all and protect the 2nd Amendment rights of all Americans.
