Hurricane Matthew upgraded to category 3 storm | 30 Sept 2016 | Hurricane Matthew is strengthening in the Caribbean and is expected to begin turning north over the weekend…At 11 a.m Friday, the center of of the storm was located near latitude 13.7 North, longitude 70.8 West and moving toward the west-southwest near 12 mph. A westward motion at a slower forward speed is expected later today and tonight. A turn toward the west-northwest is forecast by Saturday night, followed by a turn toward the northwest by early Sunday.
