Major 2nd Amendment & Concealed Carry Victory, But Will It Matter?

Last week, the FBI released its crime statistics for the year of 2015. We learned that violent crime is up 3.9% and murders are up 10.8%. Much of this is thanks to liberal cities like Chicago.
In the City of Chicago, there have been more than 3,100 shootings this calendar year alone. This past week, there was another notable shooting.
A 22-year-old man was sitting in his car when two men approached his window, pulled out their guns, and announced they were robbing him.
What these robbers did not know? Their victim is licensed to carry a concealed handgun. The driver refused to be another statistic. He shot and killed one of his attackers and forced the other to flee into the night.
For most of the country, this is just another example of how concealed carry can save people’s lives. But it is important to remember it has only been 3 years since the US 7th Circuit Court of Appeals forced Illinois to legalize concealed carry.
All around the country, American citizens are still having their 2nd Amendment right to bear arms violated. Roughly 25% of the US population still lives behind the gun control iron curtain, where concealed carry is illegal.
Congress has the power to change all that. There are a number of Concealed Carry Reciprocity bills that are still waiting for a committee hearing, not to mention a floor vote. These bills would legalize concealed carry nationwide – as the Constitution requires – and stop the unelected judges and bureaucrats from leaving Americans vulnerable.
It is up to you and other like-minded patriots to demand this bill’s passage!
Just this past Friday, a Federal judge ruled that concealed carry bans are unconstitutional.
In the US territory of the Northern Mariana Islands, there isn’t a gun control proposal that isn’t on the books.
They have assault weapons bans (ruled unconstitutional), concealed carry bans (ruled unconstitutional), bans on rifles with calibers greater than .223 (ruled unconstitutional). They also have tried to add a $1000 excise tax every time a resident buys a handgun (ruled unconstitutional).
Just because they are a territory, that doesn’t mean they are allowed to violate the Constitution and the Federal judge ruled accordingly.
This ruling now sets up another showdown in the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals and will likely go all the way to the Supreme Court eventually.
We cannot leave the future of the 2nd Amendment up to 8 or 9 unelected men and women in robes.
The Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act now has 216 co-sponsors. Do you understand what that means? It takes 218 votes to get a bill passed in the House of Representatives. They just need to pick up two more votes!
Chuck Grassley, the Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, has now co-sponsored the companion legislation as well. He gets to decide whether it moves forward and it looks like he made that decision…
The votes are there in the House for passage and to move it through Committee in the Senate. All that is missing is pressure from Patriots like YOU!
The 2nd Amendment doesn’t just apply inside your home. It applies beyond your driveway. And your right to carry doesn’t end at the state line… it exists in every state!
Personally, I believe the 2nd Amendment should be the only carry permit someone needs. However, a number of states disagree. We can either wait for the Judges to agree with us or take action right now through Congress.
We can hope for these liberal Judges to come to their senses (won’t happen) and we should certainly fight to make sure that the next Supreme Court justice is conservative and pro-2nd Amendment.
But it could take years for another concealed carry case to make it to the Supreme Court and I am unwilling to let 8 or 9 unelected men and women in robes decide the fate of this issue.
If we pass the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, it’s over. Congress has the authority to do this. In the 2000s, Congress passed the Law Enforcement Officer Safety Act, essentially making a police officer’s concealed carry permits valid nationwide.
It is time to open that concept up to all law-abiding Americans, regardless of where they live. This common-sense legislation is still waiting for a committee hearing. The Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Grassley, has co-sponsored the legislation. It has enough co-sponsors in the House to pass during a floor vote.
There are no more excuses. Either Congress supports the 2nd Amendment, or it doesn’t.
It is time for you and every other like-minded Patriot to demand that Congress act on Concealed Carry Reciprocity!
