Jesus Is Not On Tuesday’s Ballot

(Before It's News)

The November 8 election should not be a religious experience. However, it is for some on both sides of the political aisle.

Politicians should never be viewed as celebrities. They are a necessary evil, and many times, more the latter than anything. Too often, voters will fanboy and fangirl out as they cling to and follow politicians as they would a new celebrity crush.

Politicians should never be viewed as saviors. They promote an agenda which you may support and hope to see in place. However, the reality is no amount of legislation will fix societal ills or lead to a problem-free America. If you believe politicians and the government in general can help you achieve that, then you should prepare for major disappointment.

More than previous elections, there is a hope that one of the candidates this year will save America from the other. For those of us in neither camp, the idea is preposterous. It matters little to us who wins Tuesday because both are unfit to lead. Voting Hillary to save us from Trump sounds the same as voting Trump to save us from Hillary. We may be “rescued” from one, but we’ll just end up with evil in a different name. This is unacceptable to many, including myself, and places us squarely in the #NeverTrump/NeverHillary camp. During this election cycle, that has been a difficult place to exist.

In August, increasingly popular Christian author Rachel Held Evans published a piece detailing her support for Hillary Clinton. Her main reason centers around the abortion issue. You see, Evans believes that under Hillary the abortion rate will be kept low. You’d have to read the article to, uh, appreciate all that absurdity. Although she claims the opposite is true, Evans has found her political savior. For her, it’s merely the person who isn’t Donald Trump. She is hoping that somehow – miraculously – fewer unborn lives will be taken during a Hillary reign. Since Mrs. Clinton has called for increased funding for abortion giant Planned Parenthood, the organization which destroys more than 320,000 unborn lives per year, Evans’ claims fall flat on their face. Finding a savior in Hillary is an impossible search, but some, like Rachel Held Evans, are convinced she is just that. Her hatred of Trump fuels her rose-colored praise of Hillary.

On the other side, we have the pro-Trump crowd, so enamored with their “savior” that they claim he’s been ordained by God, anointed by God, and chosen by God to lead the country out of darkness. In reality, he’s a fallible human being who doesn’t believe in asking God for forgiveness, not to mention he’s entirely unstable. He’s really not all that different than his opponent, he just has the correct political letter next to his name. At the Value Voters Summit in September, actor Jon Voight sang the praises of his savior.

“My heart aches watching Donald Trump, day after day, pouring his heart out telling the American people what he wants to do to save the nation. How can anyone doubt his sincerity? I can only feel if God allows truth to be said and heard that we will see Donald Trump as the next president of this great America and he will lift the dark cloud that hovers over us now.”

Mercifully, not all those invoking God’s name do so in the same sentence as the endorsement of their savior-type candidate.

John Piper, another Christian author, is a voice of reason in 2016 “this candidate is our savior!” circles. In a message this week, Piper said the following:

The right to vote in America is not a binding duty (without regard to other factors) for Christians in every election.

“The children are free.” We are free from human institutions. As citizens of heaven, we are not bound in every situation to participate in the processes of human government. This is not our homeland. We vote — if we vote — because the Lord of our homeland commissions us to vote. And he does not absolutize this act above all other considerations of Christian witness.

Honestly, I don’t care who people vote for or even if they vote on election day. I don’t believe either choice will result in a savior being inaugurated on January 20, 2017. Personally, I’m determined to support neither, for neither deserves my vote nor represents principles I deem important.

Whatever you do, don’t look for a savior on Tuesday’s ballot. You won’t find one.

Psalm 146:3 – “Put not your trust in princes…”

  • Good article as usual.

  • tolerance of evil is not a good thing. Trump is incredibly flawed, but he is not likely to stack the supreme court and federal benches with godless humanists. He is not likely to confiscate all firearms after nullifying the 2nd amendment by royal decree (executive order). He is not likely to support the anti-christian agenda of the humanists and globalists. He is not owned by the Biderberger super-rich elites, so he is not obligated to destroy Assad and Syria in order to build the pipeline they are demanding. Hillary is willing to start WW3 over this. She will get us all killed just so the new pipeline through Syria, Turkey, and Romania that the super-rich ordered can supply the Germans and northern EU industries with cheap natural gas.

See Following Comments, Mr Redstate. You need to rethink your entire life philosophy. Perhaps you will begin to do so after reading my comments below. Let’s hope.

  • The founding fathers created a constitutional republican government with limited federal authority. This was designed for a moral Christian population that feared God and believed in a system based on firm moral absolutes. So many of laws go back to the morals of the Bible that it is fair to say that the plan and system of government they gave us has a firm biblical basis. Sad to say, the good people of this country never completely lived up to the high standard they set.

The atheists and humanists that dominate the leftist, liberal side of the political spectrum believe that God is the great fairy in the sky and that the bible is mythology. They don’t consider either particularly relevant to a modern industrial technological state. They believe that the 10 Commandments are really only the 10 Suggestions. The foundation of all laws and government is ultimately religion and morals. Humanistic religion and morals are very different from Bible religion and morals.

The foundations of atheistic humanism religion/religious philosophy are the unstable shifting sands of their choice of personal morals that apply that day. Since they don’t have a system of absolute morals, everything is relative, negotiable, and selective. If they find some moral principle they don’t like, they are sure that moral principles from the age of enlightenment outrank anything in the scriptures. This is the source of the endless hypocrisy of liberals. For example, they believe in majority rule, but only when they are in the majority. They believe in freedom of speech, but only when they are doing the speaking. Else the higher, more enlightened moral of political correctness kicks in. This justifies silencing all conservative critics. The list goes on and on.

If the liberals sweep Congress and the White House on Nov. 8, the republic will never recover from it. The first order of business will be to pack and stack the Supreme Court with extreme leftist socialists, atheist, and social justice warriors who will subvert the courts and the country after their humanistic image. Next to go will be all 2nd amendment rights. Prepare to surrender your guns to Hillary’s homeland security goons. Then Christian TV will go, since it is all so politically incorrect. No more CBN, Trinity Broadcasting, or Marcus and Joni on Daystar. Then they will strictly regulate free speech on the internet. No more christian or conservative websites. Anyone who believes in God will not be allowed to serve as an officer in the military, since there is not a complete separation of church and state if anyone in the military is a believer. (Believe it or not, Obama is discretely enforcing this rule right now. This is a complete abuse of his powers as commander in chief.)

Christianity will be slowly outlawed. The first protection to go will be tax exemptions enjoyed by ministries. Then pastors and priests will be required by law to serve communion to practicing homosexuals. They will be required to marry homosexual couples. Priests who do not marry homos will go to prison. Church property will be confiscated, all in the name of the higher humanistic morals of inclusion and tolerance. Christian groups will not be allowed to have bible studies with a few friends over in private homes without first registering the church meeting as a potentially subversive group.

The worst thing that will happen is that Hillary will continue to push Putin over Syria. This will eventually cause WW3. Your children will grow up with cancer in a nuclear wasteland. Goodbye, American Dream, here comes Humanistic Hell on Earth.

Libs, Dems, atheists, humanists, & social justice warriors, do you really want this? Have you thought the matter through?

PLEASE FORWARD THIS TO TEN OF YOUR DEMOCRAT FRIENDS.

THEN FORWARD IT TO ANYBODY YOU THINK IS STILL UNDECIDED. THE FUTURE OF AMERICA IS AT STAKE.

  • Nobody in the USA cares who governs Syria. There is no overwhelming flood of letters to Congress demanding Assad’s removal. There are no protests and riots in the streets in US cities demanding his removal. No universities have had to shut down and suspend classes because of wide-scale student protest over the evils of Assad. Why can’t Obama figure this out? Somebody send Hillary the memo.
The whole Syrian war is about getting rid of Assad and the Russians so the Arabs can have a clear pipeline easement from Qatar and the oil fields of eastern Arabia all the way to Berlin and the industries in northern Europe. They can’t build the pipeline until Assad and the Russians are out of the way.
The Bilderbergers and super-rich ordered this pipeline to be built. Why doesn’t anybody ever post an article exposing this? WikiLeaks, where are you when we need you the most?
The Dems, Obama, and Hillary are risking thermonuclear war just so the Germans can get their natural gas at cheaper prices than the Russians charge. They justify their manipulations of another sovereign state because they don’t like Assad. They say he is too immoral to govern a civilized people. What staggering liberal humanistic hypocrisy! The Democrats, Obama, and Hillary are not moral enough to be trusted to govern a civilized people.
I personally do not want to be incinerated by an 80-megaton Satan Russian missile just so the Germans can have cheap gas prices for their industries.
