NBC/WSJ Poll: With Two Days to Go, Clinton up by 4 Points
Taken from November 3-5, the NBC/Wall Street Journal poll shows Hillary Clinton has a clear lead with two days to go before the election. Currently, in a four-way race, Clinton has 44% to Donald Trump’s 40%. The remainder goes to Gary Johnson (6%) and Jill Stein (2%).
Clinton’s 4-point lead is outside of the poll’s margin of error (+/- 2.7), and leaves Clinton with a comfortable lead going into Tuesday’s election.
The good news for Trump is that it seems Clinton’s email problems have really hurt her. He was down 11 points in the same poll released in mid-October. His problem, however, is that he is losing college-educated whites by ten points (whites with no college education favor him 60-30). The other bad news for him is that 52% of those polled feel comfortable with Hillary Clinton as president. Now, that’s certainly not good for her, but being a majority, that is less good for him. Only 43% feel comfortable with him as president.
Other demographic breakdowns:
Looking inside the numbers of the two-way horserace, Clinton is ahead of Trump among women (53 percent to 38 percent), African Americans (86 percent to 7 percent), Latinos (65 percent to 20 percent) and those ages 18-34 (55 percent to 32 percent).
Trump, meanwhile, leads among men (47 percent to 42 percent), seniors (49 percent to 42 percent) and whites (53 percent to 38 percent).
Among the early voters polled, Clinton has a wide margin: 53-39. Those who are waiting until election day, however, support Trump 48-41.
There are some bright spots for Trump, but a lot of things still in his way.
