Ivanka Trump May Step In As Trump’s Acting First Lady
The speculation over what role President-elect Donald Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, could have in the Trump administration continues. But this time it looks as though her first temporary role may be as Trump’s acting First Lady.
With his wife Melania not moving to the White House until the couple’s ten-year-old son, Barron, finishes the school year in New York next year, Trump will technically need someone to fill the ceremonial role of First Lady at dinners and other functions in the interim.
We know that Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner have been looking for a residence in Washington D.C. and President-elect Trump tweeted on Monday about the running of his business, in which Ivanka’s name was conspicuously omitted.
Presidency. Two of my children, Don and Eric, plus executives, will manage them. No new deals will be done during my term(s) in office.

Ivanka would hardly be the first presidential daughter to fulfill the role. Thomas Jefferson and Benjamin Harrison’s respective daughters are among the various female relatives of the president who have been called on in the absence of a presidential spouse.
