Open Letter to Donald Trump, President-Elect of the United States of America
Mr. President-Elect:
Please do not let Meryl Streep’s comments upset you. In the position that you hold, you will always be either praised or criticized, it’s all part of the territory. What is important is what you said during your campaign speech. “Let’s make America Great Again!” There is so much going on in the world, it’s more important that you focus on our nation and the world in whole, than firing back at Meryl Streep’s negative comments.
I have confidence that you have the ability to make America great again and when you retaliate against someone that made negative comments against you, it disheartens me. You should not be wasting your time retaliating against people that make negative comments about you.
During the time that Barack Obama was in office, he was called a Muslim, he was called a Socialist and he was accused of being born outside of the United States. No matter the comments, he kept moving forward and allowed the negative comments to roll off his shoulder.
I want to see you with thicker skin and not allow negative comments to get to you. When you retaliate against the people that say negative things about you, is a sign of weakness. Do not let this be your Archille’s heel.
I voted for Obama, because I wanted “change”. Now I voted for you, because I want to see America great again. Come on Mr. President-Elect, I know you can do it.
