(Before It's News)

With all the talk of whether Trump does or does not have relevant information, in regards to the Russian hacking of DNC emails, Iowa Rep. Steve King has suggested that the National Security Agency and the Central Intelligence Agency are responsible for putting out info about the Russian involvement in the November election.

The link included with the tweet is to a site called Consortiumnews.com.

The link is to a memorandum claiming to be written by former members of the U.S. intelligence community who argue the email disclosures were the result of an internal leak rather than hacking.

Last month, The Washington Post reported that the CIA concluded Russia tried to interfere in the U.S. election to help Donald Trump win.

So not only is Russia not involved, but the NSA and the CIA worked collaboratively to influence the election away from Hillary Clinton, and Russia was just a convenient boogeyman to pin it on?

Ok. Sure. Why not?

joint report released last week by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) described how the intelligence community found links between the Russian government and hacks of Democratic groups leading up to Trump’s electoral win.

The Obama administration publicly blamed Russia for the hacking campaign in October and announced responsive sanctions on the country last week.

To be completely truthful, I don’t put any manner of corruption or deception past Barack Obama or his administration.

That being said, caution should be used when accusing these agencies of the kinds of things Trump and his fanboys are suggesting.

I’m also a bit leery of U.S. politicians that seem to have more respect for the government of Russia than they do the Americans working within our nation’s intelligence community.

Sean Spicer, the incoming White House press secretary asserted today that there is no evidence of interference from Russian players into our election.

Perhaps the coming days will reveal more, but until they do, both Democrats and Republicans may want to hold their tongues on this issue.
