Texas Lawmaker Suggests Rather Than A Wall, We Should Better Enforce Current Immigration Laws

(Before It's News)

I agree with him, actually.

Texas Representative Pete Sessions has some thoughts about Trump’s fantasy border wall, and this executive order Trump has promised to dip his hands into federal funds, in order to pay for it.

It is a waste of resources.

Rep. Pete Sessions, R-Texas, said on CNN Wednesday that replacing fences currently blocking the border or building a wall in the desert isn’t the best use of American resources.

“I do not believe we need a wall in the middle of nowhere,” Sessions said.

He added, “What we need is operational control of the border.”

The president already has authority to do what needs to be done to secure the southern border. No executive order by Trump is required. Only the will to act on what is already in place is required.

Previous presidents have apparently felt other matters were more pressing, and have allowed the southern border to provide all the protection of a sieve.

Sessions said it’s important for criminal illegal immigrants coming into the country to be sent back to their home country and to end President Obama‘s practices of catch and release or doing anything to encourage undocumented people from coming into the country.

“We’re going to follow the law,” he said. “We’re going to stop the illegal incursions across the border and we’re going to protect people.”

How about putting more manpower on the border?

By “on the border” I mean literally at the border, and not 50 miles back from the border.

Sessions went on to comment that he didn’t think there was a lot to Trump’s insistence of millions of illegals voting in the 2016 election, although he’s willing to let Trump make his case to back up his claims.
