Rush Limbaugh: Trump Not A Typical Republican
Because he’s barely a Republican, beyond his registration.
There was a time when I gladly counted myself as a “Rush Babe,” listening every day, agreeing on pretty much every point, and admittedly, crafting a lot of my own talking points about topics of the day after Rush’s shows.
Now, I have to say I feel rather foolish.
This man is no conservative, and like so many others, his principles are skin-deep.
Limbaugh appeared on “Fox News Sunday” to bolster Trump’s attacks on the media. It was disgusting, because there’s no excuse for what Trump is attempting to do.
“The media did not make Donald Trump, and they can’t destroy him,” Limbaugh told “Fox News Sunday.”
“He doesn’t fit that mold. They’re trying to every day. It’s kind of comical to watch,” he said referring to the New York Times, Washington Post, ABC, CBS and NBC, among others.
After Trump tweeted on Friday that the media is the enemy of the American people, the sycophants fell in line.
Limbaugh said “there’s something to” Trump’s tweet.
“Trump has a connection with his voters that most politicians don’t have … and that connection that he has is not anything that anybody else can break. Only he can break it.”
There’s something really creepy and cultish to that comment.
No, I mean it literally sounds like something from one of Jim Jones’ Jonestown, Guyana speeches, just before he hands out the Kool-Aid.
Weasel-boy Reince Priebus went on to further fuel the flames on Sunday, by insisting that the president’s words about an enemy media were true.
So this is where we are.
We have a sitting U.S. president, along with his cabinet, and his loyal toadies in talk radio actively pushing for another civil war in America.
I can only speculate as to what the end goal is, but as we have seen time and again what happens when extremists push their enemies lists.
People get hurt.
Whether you like the media or not, they’re still people. They’re still American citizens, and we shouldn’t ever get to a place where we are comfortable with looking at other Americans and demonizing them on a wide scale.
