Around 500 people have been detained in central Moscow during an unsanctioned rally, with opposition figure Alexey Navalny among them. The rallies, mostly unsanctioned, also took place in several other Russian cities.

For the Moscow demonstration, around 8,000 people took to the streets, according to police. As the rally continued, police used loudspeakers to call on the protesters to disperse.

Protesters came despite failing to receive permission from the mayor’s office to hold a rally at the site of their choosing. The authorities suggested two alternative locations for the event, but the organizers rejected them……

    What do you think, Soros or someones money for protesters? I am not pro Putin. However you have to admire some of his policies. There is a picture in the news right now of him kissing a little one. He does not have his zipper down, he understands that in the future these are going to be the strength of the nation. I’m wishing the rest of the governments I am looking at had half the brains he has.
