DPR providing humanitarian aid for citizens of Ukrainian occupied territories [TV Report] – YouTube
From March 15 the first social aid will be paid in frames of the humanitarian program “The Donbass people’s reunion”. Veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War (WW2) all over the Donetsk People’s Republic and even in the Kiev-occupied territories will get the one-off payment of 10 thousand rubles.
For those who live in the occupied territories the mobile distribution points in the near-front area will be settled.
Not only Donetsk citizens call to the helping line, but also the citizens of other regions. The helping line of the humanitarian program “Donbass people’s reunion” bursts with calls.
“We receive the calls every day, for the present moment we received 40 calls. Generally we receive 50 calls per day, sometimes more,” said Ekaterina, the employee of the humanitarian program “Donbass people’s reunion”.
There’s no wonder, that about a 60% of callers are the citizens of the Kiev-occupied Donbass regions. About one third of the callers are the DPR citizens, people clarify the information for their relatives and friends who live on the other side.
“Apart from it we receive calls not only from the Donetsk region, but also from Kharkov, Odessa, Ternopol regions of Ukraine, so we have quite wide geography here,” Ekaterina said. People are very interested in this program; they often ask if any modifications concerning the other Ukrainian regions can be made.
In three weeks after the Republic’s leaders announced the program’s start no word appeared in the Ukrainian Media, despite the fact that people in Kiev-controlled regions can receive this help.
“The program received our joint approval and maybe its just a one ounce, but nevertheless, we talk about it, we are concerned with the faith of our compatriots and our close people who we cannot forget. So if there is anything we can do for them, we are to do it,” said Alexander Zakharchenko, the DPR Head.
Surprisingly, but even in Minsk the official Kiev remains silent on the matter. The program received neither support nor disapproval of the Ukrainian side. The management of the humanitarian aid centre is sure that no objections on the Ukrainian part are to take place, but to wait for any help is quite unreasonable.
“It is quite cynical to protest against the humanitarian support of its citizens. Any country and any government should be interested it the high level of life, in support of its people and in providing the conditions for the safe life of the citizens,” said Natalia Nikonorova, the DPR acting Foreign Affairs Minister.
The first spheres to be available for the Ukrainian citizens are medicine and education. Every Ukrainian citizen living the Donetsk region can simply come to the DPR and receive the high quality service. The more the better, from the March 15, the veterans and invalids of the Great Patriotic War are to receive the humanitarian help. Till the Victory Day every veteran is to be paid about 10 thousand rubles.
“The mobile distribution centres are to be established in the near front area not far from the checkpoints. The centres are to be brought into operation from the April 1st, the payment should be started from the March 15, and from the March 15, one can receive the money in the nearest Donbass Post Office,” Nikonorova said.
The main thing that the humanitarian aid centre’s administration undeline is, that all the aid given is not at the Republic’s citizens’ expense, and providing help to the veterans, who feel forlorn and forgotten in their own country is an affair of honour.
