Jason Chaffetz Is Still Pursuing Answers About Hillary Clinton’s Email Server

(Before It's News)

So why isn’t the State Department turning over Hillary Clinton’s remaining emails? Trump is in charge, now, and some of his campaign rhetoric included getting to the bottom of the Clinton deception. His people are installed and presumably, he could instruct them to cooperate with House Oversight Committee, but that hasn’t happened.

Speaking with Fox News, the chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), appears to be more dedicated to seeing this through than the Trump White House.

“We need to understand the gravity of this. There is a reason the State Department, years after, is still holding off on giving us documents,” Chaffetz told Fox News. “The more they want to hold them, the more curious we are on what’s in them.”

That would be a reasonable response.

If there’s nothing to them, they would have been released under the Obama administration’s State Department. After all, what better way to paint Republicans as zealots, with no base for their charges. It might have even helped Clinton look less atrocious in a tough election battle.

With that in mind, however, it becomes even more disconcerting that Trump’s State Department are dragging their heels.

Chaffetz said he believes the investigation will continue well into 2018 and charged that up to 300 people at the State Department may have mishandled classified information.

He called the department “dreadfully slow” in turning over about 30,000 additional documents relevant to the probe.

Chaffetz definitely deserves kudos, in this matter. Apparently, it wasn’t just a campaign tool for him, but an honest pursuit of truth.

After their 2016 investigation into Clinton’s handling of her emails, the FBI concluded that no criminal charges would be forthcoming, and of course, the Justice Department were all in with that.

Chaffetz has repeatedly pushed to continue the investigation following President Trump’s inauguration. On Feb. 16, the Utah Republican sent a letter to Attorney General Jeff Sessions asking the Justice Department to prosecute Bryan Pagliano, a former State Department IT technician who set up Clinton’s private email server in her home.

Yeah. About that guy.

He was basically a tech guy that just gave the middle finger to the House Oversight Committee and refused to cooperate.

That wouldn’t work in any other day-to-day situation, so how does he get away with it?

And of course, the Democrat faction on the House Oversight Committee want this to go away. They’re calling it a waste of time and resources.

Keep plugging, Rep. Chaffetz. When the push back is this persistent, it’s for a reason.
