Look at Me (Please)! Sarah Palin Cries Foul Over James Comey’s Monday Testimony
“People who have outlived their relevance” for $200, Alex.
Peeling off a string of Trump train rhetoric, former Alaska Governor and 2008 VP nominee, Sarah Palin emerged today to cast aspersions on yesterday’s House Intel Committee hearing.
Specifically, she zeroed in on FBI Director James Comey.
We knew this was coming.
They hated him when he initially dropped the investigation into Hillary’s emails… loved him when he picked it back up (after finding more emails on Anthony Weiner’s laptop)… and now it’s time to hate him, again.
Palin is apparently upset over Comey’s testimony, which revealed that the FBI was investigating Russian interference in the 2016 election, and was, in fact, investigating any possible collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia.
“The swamp runs deep,” she wrote on Facebook. “Where are congressional ‘investigators’ on this conflict of interest issue?”
“Why aren’t dots more clearly connected by those in authority, those privy to information that we peasants are not?” the GOP’s 2008 vice presidential nominee asked.
“Why is tainted Comey still part of Team Trump? How long does he get to ride the train?”
Was he ever part of “Team Trump”?
He made a couple of moves that endeared him to Trump’s base during the election, but other moves turned them off. I think, if anything, that shows that he’s only on Team FBI.
Further, Comey’s testimony revealed that there is no evidence of Trump Tower having been wiretapped by former President Obama.
None of this makes Comey an enemy of Trump. He’s just doing the job he signed up to do.
Palin went on to link a series of Breitbart News claims, which placed Comey in perceived alliance with the Clintons.
The article cites a September 2016 Breitbart News report titled “Exposed: FBI Director James Comey’s Clinton Foundation Connection.”
Breitbart first cited more than $6 million Comey earned in 2010 as the general counsel and vice president for Lockheed Martin. Lockheed Martin donated to the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Global Initiative that year, it added.
Breitbart next pointed to Comey’s time as a board member, director and Financial System Vulnerabilities Commission member at HSBC Holdings in 2013. The London-based bank and its various philanthropic branches routinely partnered with the Clinton Foundation, it said.
The article further links Comey to the Clintons through his brother, Peter, who works for DLA Piper law firm.
DLA Piper conducted an independent audit on the Clinton Foundation in November 2016, ipso facto – Director Comey is protecting the Clintons by testifying that no one wiretapped Trump Tower. Obviously.
And as for the investigation into possible collusion?
That’s all political.
UGH.
It’s tiring. Were Palin ever anything other than a crass opportunist, she would want the truth, no matter what side it came from, and she’d find more reliable sources than Breitbart News.
