Pro-Life Millennials More Passionate Than Their Pro-Abort Counterparts

(Before It's News)

Though the mainstream media portrays most Millennials as lovers of abortion, this is not the case.

Plenty of those in the often-maligned Millennial generation (of which I am included) are hardworking, conscientious, goal-oriented individuals. As regards the issue of life in the womb, pro-life Millennials possess a passion that pro-abort Millennials do not.

NARAL Pro-Choice America’s former president, Nancy Keenan, said as much before stepping down from her post in 2012, as reported in The Washington Post:

“There is an intensity gap between our side, being pro-choice, and the other side,” Keenan said.

“I was born two months after Roe v. Wade was settled, so, in a way, the battle was won,” said Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILY’s List, which works to elect Democratic women who support abortion rights to public office. “Our grandmothers and mothers fought these battles with intensity. When you’re fighting to hold onto something, rather than get something, it gets less intense.”

Pro-life Millennials have only known a society where the legally-protected homicide of abortion is not only commonplace, but is dressed up as women’s rights.

A great example of Millennial, pro-life passion is found within the Students for Life of America organization and their latest campaign, #SockIt2PP.

While the battle rages on the federal level, pro-life millennials at Students for Life of America are launching a nationwide campaign to demonstrate the destruction that Planned Parenthood leaves in its wake called #SockIt2PP where 323,999 baby socks will be delivered to Congress and the same number worn by pro-life supporters on their shirts, bags, backpacks, etc., to show their support for defunding Planned Parenthood.

The number of 323,999 represents the number of abortions Planned Parenthood committed in 2015, their latest numbers available.

Kaylin Haines, a sophomore at Fort Hays State University in Kansas, was the inspiration for the project. It was a photo of a baby sock pinned to her backpack that launched the idea.

“On our college campus, we were trying to find a way to spark more conversations about the pro-life generation and abortion beyond the classroom, so we started to pin baby socks to our bags as a way to show what we stand for and in solidarity with those who won’t ever get the chance to have life because of Planned Parenthood,” said Kaylin. “It’s been a huge success and we are thrilled to participate in this project with Students for Life of America.”

So many social causes are promoted by the younger generation. Protecting and defending the right to life – a most basic freedom – is becoming a passionate cause for them as decades pass since the Roe v Wade decision of their parents’ era 44 years ago.

Most important of all is that this cause, whether promoted on campus by Millennials or in neighborhoods by people three times their age, is that it is fueled by life. Such powerful motivation invigorates unlike anything the pro-abort side can muster.
