Say Goodbye to Obama’s Iran Nuclear Deal

Barack Obama’s nuclear deal with Iran was, in his opinion, the main accomplishment of his Presidency.
That could come crashing down at any minute.
President Trump has talked about ripping the Iran deal to shreds, and that would be a good thing. But now the White House is considering something else: revealing all the secret aspects of the agreement that Obama hid from Congress and the American people.
It’s actually brilliant. Sure, he can dismantle the agreement, but before he does, he can skewer former-President Obama by showing the country he lied to their faces.
When Congress passed the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act of 2015, there was a provision in the bill that required all aspects of the deal to be delivered to Congress for review. The provision is outlined in Public Law 114-17:
“Not later than 5 calendar days after reaching an agreement with Iran relating to the nuclear program of Iran, the President shall transmit to the appropriate congressional committees and leadership— ‘‘(A) the agreement, as defined in subsection (h)(1), including all related materials and annexes.”
When the Obama White House sent the agreement to Congress, they deliberately withheld key side-deals. One of these side-deals leaked last year and showed that Iran would be able to build a nuclear bomb much sooner than the official agreement alleged.
These secret side deals would have killed the Iran agreement if they were made public. Word is that they contradict the very language that Congress approved.
Congress has the authority to do two things: (1) withdraw its approval of the Iran nuclear deal because Obama withheld key documents and (2) make those secret side-deals public.
The first would kill Obama’s signature accomplishment. The second would reveal him to the world to be a fraud.
Given the news today that former-President Obama approved a wiretap on Trump Tower during the election, the latter effect would be quite fitting…
Iran continues to test ballistic missiles capable of delivering a nuclear payload. These are missiles designed to deliver a weapon of mass destruction. There is no other purpose. In February, Iran tested a nuclear capable intercontinental ballistic missile.
Just yesterday, Iran tested surface-to-air missiles designed to protect their nuclear missile silos from air attacks.
And thanks to Obama, they are allowed to continue to enrich Uranium. But more importantly, they are trusted to “self-inspect” their own facilities. Any report that says Iran is complying with the deal stems from Iran inspecting itself for compliance…
It’s time to dump the whole thing.
This is Congress’ job. They were lied to. The American people were lied to. Barack Obama perpetuated a fraud on the American people and empowered a nuclear Iran. All so that he could build a monument to himself.
Well, it is time to bring that monument crashing down.
Just this week, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson met with the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency to discuss rolling back the agreement.
But ultimately, it must come from Congress. Under the terms of the Iran Nuclear Agreement Review Act, Congress has the authority to pull the US out of the agreement for the Obama White House’s refusal to provide all relevant materials. They also have the power to make those secret side deals public.
The law is on our side. The administration is on our side.
We just need to get loud and demand it!
