(Before It's News)

As the House Intelligence Committee rolls forward in its probe to determine how and to what extent Russia meddled in the 2016 election, they’ve got a list of witnesses they intend to question.

A new report says that among those they will be questioning is President Trump’s son-in-law, and current senior adviser, Jared Kushner.

According to the New York Times, the request to have Kushner appear was made earlier this month.

The White House has previously acknowledged a December meeting at Trump Tower between Kushner, Kislyak and former national security adviser Michael Flynn. Discussions at that meeting reportedly focused on the potential of better relations between the U.S. and Russia.

The Times reported that Kislyak had requested a second meeting and Kushner sent a deputy in his place. Kislyak requested that meeting to “deliver a message,” White House spokesman Hope Hicks said. During that meeting, the Russian ambassador said he wanted Kushner to meet with Sergey Gorkov, the chief of Vnesheconombank.

Kushner met with Gorkov at a later date.

Hicks blew off the meeting as nothing, and it may have been exactly that: nothing.

Kushner is just one of several Trump associates who have been called to testify before the committee.

Michael Flynn, Roger Stone, and former campaign manager, Paul Manafort, will also testify.
