Let the extorti— err —cajoling begin. Vice President Mike Pence is on his way to  Capitol Hill as

Vice President Mike Pence is on his way to Capitol Hill as Republican leadership continues to whip votes for the upcoming vote on the American Health Care Act.

Pence, seen as the conservative counterpart to populist Trump, being dispatched indicates that Republicans still do not have the votes needed to pass the AHCA on Friday.

The Trump administration has said that this is the last and best option for replacing Obamacare. Whether or not they’re bluffing has yet to determined.

The House Freedom Caucus and moderates in the Tuesday Group have both voiced opposition to the bill despite relentless arm-twisting from GOP leadership.

The administration has signaled that they will move on to tax reform if the AHCA fails. A truly ridiculous notion and a clear marker of how President Trump’s style is not best suited to governing.

If this attempt fails there is no reason House Republicans, or in the Senate for that matter, shouldn’t work to pass the 2015 Obamacare repeal that seemingly no one had a problem with voting for.

The House is expected to vote on the AHCA bill by 5 p.m. ET, but if things keep going this way it could be moved to later.
