The American College of Pediatricians Says Gender Ideology Harms Children
The American College of Pediatricians has released a position statement that equates promoting “Gender Ideology” for children with child abuse.
Summary
The bottom line is this: Our opponents advocate a new scientifically baseless standard of care for children with a psychological condition (GD) that would otherwise resolve after puberty for the vast majority of patients concerned. Specifically, they advise: affirmation of children’s thoughts which are contrary to physical reality; the chemical castration of these children prior to puberty with GnRH agonists (puberty blockers which cause infertility, stunted growth, low bone density, and an unknown impact upon their brain development), and, finally, the permanent sterilization of these children prior to age 18 via cross-sex hormones. There is an obvious self-fulfilling nature to encouraging young GD children to impersonate the opposite sex and then institute pubertal suppression. If a boy who questions whether or not he is a boy (who is meant to grow into a man) is treated as a girl, then has his natural pubertal progression to manhood suppressed, have we not set in motion an inevitable outcome? All of his same sex peers develop into young men, his opposite sex friends develop into young women, but he remains a pre-pubertal boy. He will be left psychosocially isolated and alone. He will be left with the psychological impression that something is wrong. He will be less able to identify with his same sex peers and being male, and thus be more likely to self identify as “non-male” or female. Moreover, neuroscience reveals that the pre-frontal cortex of the brain which is responsible for judgment and risk assessment is not mature until the mid-twenties. Never has it been more scientifically clear that children and adolescents are incapable of making informed decisions regarding permanent, irreversible and life-altering medical interventions. For this reason, the College maintains it is abusive to promote this ideology, first and foremost for the well-being of the gender dysphoric children themselves, and secondly, for all of their non-gender-discordant peers, many of whom will subsequently question their own gender identity, and face violations of their right to bodily privacy and safety.
The position paper has two very damning points. The first is that “98% of gender dysphoric boys, and 88% of gender dysphoric girls”, have their conditions resolve themselves with puberty. In other words their natural development is overwhelmingly best allowed to occur naturally instead of being stopped and shunted onto a path that it can’t complete. A path that will leave the children permanently unable to have children of their own and leaves them physically damaged.
The second is that in adulthood people that use cross sex hormones have twenty times the suicide rates of people that don’t, best case. So treatment that does permanent damage and only has a slim chance of being applied to children that will actually require help, doesn’t resolve the problems and may well actually leave the recipient in a worse mental state than they were without it.
Given the overwhelming negatives, it begs the question why is this not just being allowed to happen but actually promoted ? When will it be fashionable to give these poor souls help again ?
Target Stock Takes Big Hit On Earnings, Down 30% Since Bathroom Decision.
Target stock dropped 15 percent from their pre earnings announcement price of 67.49, to a post announcement low of 57.47 after their fourth quarter earnings report was released. This is way down (32%) from their April 19th price of 83.98 when they announced their infamous transgendered bathroom policy. Yahoo Finance

Since they announced that policy, the company’s value has dropped around fifteen billion dollars, they have angered their customers, and lost sales. What’s more they have shown boycotts do work and the stupidity can be countered.
Overwhelming Majority of Americans Believe Bathrooms Should Be Linked To Biological Sex
No great surprise after the last story, but 66% to 27% of Americans think shower and lockeroom use should be tied to biological sex.
Majorities also support the right of doctors and employers to opt out of performing or covering surgery or other treatments intended to change someone’s sex.By a margin of almost 40 points, a majority of Americans – 66 percent to 27 percent – do not think “someone who is transitioning to become the opposite sex” should be allowed to use whichever showers or locker rooms they want.
By a margin of nearly 20 points, a majority of Americans have the same opinion about bathroom use (56 percent to 38 percent).
Eight in 10 Americans say doctors and other healthcare professionals should not be forced to be involved with operations intended to change someone’s sex, if they disagree with such procedures for religious reasons. Fewer than two in 10 disagree (18 percent).
