“At least 17 ISIL terrorists have been killed and 20 others have been wounded in tough battle with the Yemeni forces in al-Bayda province,” the Arabic-language media outlets quoted informed security sources as saying.

The sources noted that Yemeni army and popular forces killed the 17 ISIL terrorists in Homeh al-Hasm, Leqah, al-Ashash and al-Jamri villages located in al-Qoreishiyeh region.

Also on Saturday, the Yemeni army and popular forces’ artillery units targeted the positions of the Saudi-backed militants in Midi and al-Jawf regions.

Spokesman: Riyadh Emptying State Currency Reserves to Buy Support against Iran

The Iranian foreign ministry advised the Saudi officials not to spend their state reserves to coax other countries into taking positions against Tehran.

“Saudi Arabia is somehow suspicious and sad and is trying to gather consensus and coordination in some regional countries against other regional states, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, which is not a new thing and we have witnessed such actions by Riyadh in the past too,” Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Qassemi said on Monday, referring to the Saudi king’s recent visit to Malaysia.

He said such moves require exhausting much energy and financial resources, but are fruitless, explaining that such efforts are aimed at coaxing other countries into taking negative positions against Iran.

Qassemi also advised the Malaysian officials to use their capacities to increase cooperation among the Islamic countries and avoid being influenced under the pressures of certain parties.

In relevant remarks on Thursday, Qassemi categorically dismissed the allegations made by the Saudi regime in a joint statement issued by Riyadh and Kuala Lumpur.

Qassemi’s remarks came in reaction to the unfounded allegations mentioned in the clause 15 of a joint statement issued at the end of the visit of the Saudi King Salman to Malaysia on March 1.

“The principled policy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as an effective and peaceful country, is based on mutual respect and non-interference in the affairs of other countries,” the Iranian foreign ministry spokesman said.

He reiterated that Iran’s policy is also based on coexistence and cooperation with all neighbors and countries of the region and the world in order to strengthen stability, security and peace and a relentless fight on terrorism.

Riyadh and Kuala Lumpur “expressed serious concerns” over what they called as the Iranian interference in the internal affairs of countries in the region as the Saudi king wrapped up his lavish trip to Malaysia on the first leg of a month-long Asia journey.
