(Before It's News)

Sen. Tom Cotton joined conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Monday to discuss reports showing that Susan Rice was involved with requesting that Trump campaign and transition officials were “unmasked.”

Cotton blasted Rice for finding herself entangled in many foreign policy-related controversies from the era of President Obama.

Hewitt brought up that Rice said she “knew nothing about” surveillance of Trump officials last month when she gave an interview on “PBS NewsHour.”

Turns out she may have been lying, and Hewitt speculated that could be the case in this situation.

Cotton, a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, then refereed to Rice as the, “Typhoid Mary of the Obama administration foreign policy.”

“Every time something went wrong, she seemed to turn up in the middle of it, whether it was these allegations of improper unmasking and potential improper surveillance, whether it was Benghazi, or many of the other fiascoes of the Obama administration,” Cotton said.

When Hewitt asked Cotton if he ever requested the “unmasking” of someones identity, Cotton affirmatively said he had not.

“I’ve never asked for an unmasked name, and frankly it’s hard to imagine the circumstances [under which] you would in the ordinary course of business outside of an exceptional review like we’re conducting now,” Cotton said.

“Unmasking normally occurs by law enforcement or intelligence analysts who need it to conduct an investigation or to understand the raw intelligence.”

When asked whether the Senate should conduct a formal hearing into the “unmasking,” Cotton said, “There’s no doubt about that.”

Cotton added that there are “three big issue areas” regarding this story that everyone needs to be aware of — Russian having any involvement in hacking our election; “conspiracy theories” from the media and Democrats surround collusion between Trump associates and Russian officials; and potential wrongdoing by Obama administration officials by requesting that U.S. citizens be unmasked “without proper grounds.”

Cotton’s three points are accurate and exactly what we need. All three issues are separate from one another in terms of an investigation, but they can all put an end to theories and speculation running rampant in the media.

If you’re innocent, you usually offer to prove it. Time for the truth to come out.
