  • Best bread I ever et was from a solar cooker! Too easy and sooooo cheap! Preserves nutrition too. Why we don’t all cook this way is beyond me.

    Also, with the cardboard box and foil, a heat sink helps a lot. A heat sink could be a flat rock or flat chunk of metal like a barbells weight. Quart canning jars painted black on the outside work well too providing more surface area to the food.

    But, what’s the deal with refrigeration? Is the point just to cook everything up?

    Has anyone canned with a solar cooker?
