In today’s post we’re going to go over a very common and highly flawed bugout plan that many preppers have apparently chosen as their first response for most SHTF scenarios. We’re going to dissect the fundamental flaws with this plan and give some viable alternatives to bugging out to the woods.
There are many reasons why bugging out just in general is probably the worst idea you can have in a real-life SHTF scenario. We went into detail about this topic in THIS article. However, it seems that not only are a lot of preppers insisting on bugging out for practically any disaster scenario, but that many of them are planning on grouping up like some para-military pack of wannabe Rambos and “living off the land” and shooting anything and anyone that moves.
People have been talking about SHTF scenarios since Y2k. The S is not going THF in a way that most people think. Maybe localized SHTF but not nationwide…at least not unless another world war starts. So what is going to happen? Increases in local lawlessness. A civilization requires a good networked law enforcement to work properly. If you lose that network, localized lawlessness can occur…even within the local law enforcement. we are seeing some of that happening through videos on YT where police get out of control and evidence of pockets of police state mentality. The SHTF is not going to be “one day its not…..the next day it is” it will slowly trickle into people’s lives randomly, wearing us down like a grindstone financially, then emotionally, then physically until, one day, we are at that point of desperate existence. The S won’t hit the fan, it will accumulate until it stinks and chokes us to death.
Sure, everyone’s going to bug out and head to the mountains.
How many of you have lived off the land?
How many have have had survival training?
How many actually know where the mountains are?
How many of you have actually been to the mountains?
How many of you have spent the night in below freezing conditions in the mountains?
Do yourself a favor and stay home….
Leaving where you normally live and where everyone knows you, is not the best plan. If you move to the wilds, most people would die from lack of know how and stupidity, and in America the locals will shoot first and ask questions later. Fear does terrible things to peoples morality.
