Participants are now prepared to provide comprehensive drug-free workplace programs for employers.
Alpharetta, GA (PRWEB) October 21, 2012
Participants completed a five day rigorous training program last week to prepare them to provide comprehensive Drug-free workplace solutions for businesses in their area. Training included Federal, DOT, Non-DOT and Government regulations.
“Contrary to popular practices, a true drug-free workplace is a lot more than just providing drug testing to employees,” said ANY LAB TEST NOW Toxicology Manger Laura Bradbury. “It needs to be a comprehensive program that includes a consortium for random drug testing, a strong policy, supervisor training, employee education, testing and access to help for employees.” Participants learned in depth about all of these aspects necessary to ensure employers are protected in event of a worker’s comp claim.
SAMHSA’s National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) shows that 8.9-percent of the population Americans 12 or older use illegal drugs, up from 8.7% in 2009. This puts employers and their employees at risk and increases their liability. In order to increase safety and productivity, employers should consider a drug-free workplace. Only a comprehensive drug-free workforce program can truly protect them against worker’s compensation cases.
“I was excited to participate in the Employer Boot Camp and provide various trainings and resources for those who participated,” said Joe Reilly, former Chairman of the Board for DATIA , President of Florida Drug Screen, Inc. and current Consultant, Joe Reilly & Associates, Inc. “Providing services to employers for drug free workplace programs requires a great deal of knowledge and they are now armed to properly help employers with workplace substance abuse prevention programs.”
Graduates of the program include the following: Dana Doyel from Eugene, OR; Mark White from Waco, TX; Alex Lamkin from Bloomington and Plymouth, MN; Linda Roark from Abilene, TX; Tom Van Popering from Charlotte, NC; Susan Lynch from Wilmington, NC; Guy Ben-Shalom from Aventura, FL; Mike Egel from St. Louis, MO; Woodie Hippler from Louisville, KY; Linda Markley from Ft. Myers, FL; Tia Beasley from Tupelo, MS and Kristen Chandler and Jimmie Crain from Granbury, TX.
