LIGHTNING RELEASES –MURRAY, UTAH – NOVEMBER 6, 2014 – NexTalk Inc., A pioneering developer of communication software for the deaf and hard of hearing, announced today the launch of a new communication software program called ACCESS.  ACCESS Business Edition is designed to provide businesses with an inexpensive, secure and simple-to-use software program with which to communicate with their deaf and hard of hearing customers.

Specifically, The NexTalk ACCESS Business Edition is a communication software program that can be installed on any windows-based desktop computer, laptop computer or tablet.  The software includes 9 options for connecting with and communicating with deaf and hard of hearing customers and clientele.  The options include relay services like Video Relay and Text Relay, as well as video phone, Video Remote Interpreting, Voice Carry Over, Hearing Carry over and TTY/TDD.

“If you browse any print or on-line business directory, you will find very few small and medium sized businesses that provide a communication option for their deaf and hard of hearing customers.  There has been a question about what a business needs to provide to be considered ADA compliant.  If you instruct the deaf and hard of hearing customers to call you via a relay service, is that good enough?  I wouldn’t suggest it”, says Gary Tanner, CEO of NexTalk, “Relay companies provide a valuable service, but asking your existing customers and potential customers to contact you via a relay service can send a very negative message, not to mention that it represents a potential liability for you.  In this day of stolen credit card numbers and hacked personal information, businesses have to be very careful about who they “share” the customer’s information with.  A third party company presents an information security risk.  Additionally, having a third person on the line can be uncomfortable, or even embarrassing depending on the nature of the call.  For example, a deaf customer calling an insurance agent may not want to discuss their recent accident and police findings when a third party relay operator is included on the call.  They would rather work directly with the insurance agent.  ACCESS Business allows businesses to connect and communicate directly with their deaf and hard of hearing customers.   AT $899 a year, it’s an affordable and simple to use communication tool.  More importantly, it makes it clear to their deaf and hard of hearing customers that they value them enough to include a communication tool designed for them.  If you own or manage a professional-services business (dentist, optometrist, insurance agent, chiropractor, salon, law office, tax accountant, auto repair shop, etc.) you should seriously consider the advantages of including NexTalk ACCESS Business”.

The ACCESS Network

NexTalk created the ACCESS network as a communication network specifically for the deaf and hard of hearing.  The ACCESS software programs (ACCESS Home, ACCESS Business and ACCESS Education), all connect and communicate with each other via the network.  All calls placed between ACCESS users, be they video or text, are network based calls, so they are not routed through the telephone company or other companies who may capture or “mine” information from the calls.  The ACCESS network is not just for the Deaf and Hard of hearing, it’s also for anyone who wants to communicate with the deaf and hard of hearing; friends, family, co-workers, church members, schools, daycare centers, dentist’s offices, insurance agents, businesses, etc.
