Los Angeles, CA — New action comedy webseries “Black Cop White Cop” premiered Oct. 28 in Ontario, CA. The series is set in 1974 featuring plainclothes detectives Leron Blackwell and Woody Piccolo who are battling a local gang of scantily clad women.
While industry insiders are already using superlatives to describe the show’s extended trailer, producers are staging a Kickstarter fundraiser to gather money to complete the series.

The show trailer can be seen on the Kickstarter page.
Black Cop White Cop pits Blackwell and Piccolo (played by series creators Cody Theilman and Jayson Watson) against local drug kingpin Yogi and his harem. The result is nonstop laughs as the two clumsy detectives try to clean up their city.
“We poke a lot of fun at themes from the 1970s. But we feel the more things change, the more they stay the same,” said Theilman.
Theilman and Watson are not new to filmmaking. The two are owners of Southern California’s Reelax Photography and winners of multiple industry awards for commercials and music videos.
“But the life of an artist is never an easy one. We still both work at a sports bar. Most of the actors in the series are either current or former employees of the same bar,” Theilman said.
It took eight months to complete the trailer as the team saved money each month to finance successive segments of production. They helped fix a coworkers 1970s model car so it could be used in the show. Then they made a free promotional video for a local gym in exchange for using the venue as a set.
Now Watson and Theilman are asking fans and industry supporters to contribute to their Kickstarter campaign. Their goal is $7,000 needed to complete the first season including six episodes at 6 to 8 minutes each in length.
The money will be used to secure more complex sets and hire professional actors.
The producers are asking residents of the Inland Empire region of Southern California to get involved and help promote this Web Series featuring their area.
