The Groza Learning Center Releases New Academic Resources Developed for SAT Changes
Recognizing the increasing concern among parents and students regarding the changes to the SAT, the Groza Learning Center is announcing the release of a variety of academic resources specifically designed to assist students as they prepare to take the new SAT. In addition to the one-on-one tutoring sessions and test preparation classes already offered by the Groza Learning Center, co-founders Scott Groza and Christy Groza have developed a wealth of academic resources that include a workbook focusing on strategic vocabulary building.
“We have heard about many parents and students who are concerned that the recent changes to the SAT could have an unfair impact on their performance,” said Scott Groza. “Understanding the profound importance of the SAT with regard to college admissions, we felt that it was only appropriate to work on alleviating those perfectly reasonable concerns while also developing specific preparatory strategies.”
The co-founders of the Groza Learning Center have also been working diligently to make parents and students aware of the fact that the quality of the test preparation materials remains the same when compared to previous years. Noting that the quantity of the available materials has indeed been reduced as a result of the changes, the College Board has still released the practice exams and other materials necessary for publishers to create the SAT guides that are so part and parcel in the creation of a preparation strategy.
“The College Board released materials detailing the new changes early enough that publishers had ample time to create updated study guides,” said Christy Groza. “The changes were also thoroughly detailed through a variety of other materials made available to educators and schools so that every student would be fairly assessed when taking the SAT.”
The Groza Learning Center’s co-founders also felt it was important to note that the manner in which the SAT is scored ensures that students will not be adversely affected by any changes. Due to the fact that the test is scaled according to the performance of other students taking the exam under the same conditions and with access to the same preparation materials, there is no disadvantage created as a result of changes to the test itself.
