Dr. Kern is a pediatric anesthesiologist at North American Partners in Anesthesia in Queens, NY as well as a Professor of Anesthesiology at Hofstra University. With over 27 years of experience, he specializes in pediatric anesthesia and critical care medicine.
Educated at University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Kern completed residencies at Baylor College of Medicine and University of Pennsylvania, followed by a fellowship at University of Philadelphia. He has published nearly 40 book chapters and 60 articles and is an active member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, Society of Critical Care Medicine, and the Society for Pediatric Anesthesia.
Dr. Kern attributes his success to hard work, persistence, parental influence, and the support of his wife and mentors. When not teaching or assisting patients, he enjoys skiing and reading the Anesthesiology Journal.
