Jewelry maker and artist Lisa Bayer loves butterflies. This has always been obvious in her art and designs, but it wasn’t until recently that she was able to find a way to use butterflies in jewelry that would also help to preserve their existence in nature. The Blue Goddess Reborn line of jewelry and accessories features butterflies that have died naturally on farms and preserves. Each of the pieces utilizes all or parts of the butterfly that has been encapsulated in high quality resin. The collection has already received attention from boutiques and eco-friendly groups who encourage sustainable agriculture programs.

“I was sitting in a field one day when a Monarch butterfly lighted on my arm,” says Bayer. “I’ve been in love ever since. This collection is my way of not only giving women something that will touch their inner goddess, but also does good things in the world. When we use butterflies that have been farmed, we create jobs that encourage conservation over deforestation.”

Each one of a kind piece was designed specifically to “evoke the goddess” and put women back in touch with their earth-loving, primordial selves. The designs are as intriguing to look at as they are bright and colorful. Many who have reviewed the collection are in awe of the incredible color diversity in the butterflies from the bright green of the Ornithoptera Priamus Poseidon to the amazing red of the Heliconius Doris. Jewelry lovers and those who enjoy the beautifully odd will find something to enjoy in this powerful new collection.

“I feel at times that we have lost our connection with nature,” say Bayer. “This separation keeps us from knowing that spark of the goddess within us. When you wear this jewelry you really feel as if you are a meant to be walking through a primeval forest or dancing in a field of wildflowers. I am so incredibly proud of this collection!”
