Kristin S. Held, MD, ophthalmologist at Stone Oak Ophthalmology, and affiliated with Methodist Hospital, has been named a 2016 Top Doctor in San Antonio, Texas. Dr. Kristin S. Held is a very experienced ophthalmologist, having been in practice for more than three decades. Her long and successful medical career began in 1985 when she graduated from the University of Texas Medical School at San Antonio. An internship in Internal Medicine and then a residency in Opthalmology then followed at the University of Texas Health Science Center.
Dr. Held still holds a connection to the University of Texas, despite being in private practice, as she is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology there. As a board certified ophthalmologist, Dr. Held diagnoses and treats a wide range of conditions relating to the eyes, from glaucoma to cataracts, but she is renowned as a specialist in the use of LASIK laser eye surgery, and the use of premium intraocular lens implantation.
Dr. Held was a founder of the Alamo Laser Vision Center, and has also served as a consultant for the Texas State Board of Medical Examiners. She is also the author of medical papers and chapters on many subjects, from dry eye to diabetes, and is a passionate advocate for responsible patient-centric healthcare reforms. Her expertise in ophthalmology and laser eye surgery makes Dr. Kristin S. Held a very worthy winner of a 2016 Top Doctor Award.
