THE WOODLANDS, Texas — With all of the recent articles on studies showing that tapping and fidgeting burns calories, I’m surprised this hasn’t happened sooner. Early last week, Gulf Coast Applications, LLC released a new Android app that promotes fidgeting by keeping track of the amount of taps performed and rewarding the user on greater numbers. This independent group of developers saw the opportunity and went for it.

“If tapping is proven to burn calories, why not create a way to keep track of these taps?” says CEO Joe Dearbonne. This creative thinking is how TapFits was born. Along with the current release, there are a number of modifications coming soon. Also an IOS version is in production so don’t feel left out Apple users. The app is released with a $1.99 price tag and there is also a free version with limited capabilities.

Download the app from Google Play.
